Athletics has been one of India’s strongest sports at the Asian Games. Indian athletes won a total of 29 medals in athletics – 12 gold10 silver, and 7 bronze 1.

 

  1. Neeraj Chopra won two gold medals in the men’s javelin throw and mixed team javelin throw events. He set a new Asian Games record with a throw of 88.88 meters in the men’s javelin throw 4.
  2. Dutee Chand won two gold medals in the women’s 100m and 200m events. She became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in the women’s 100m event at the Asian Games 5.

Shooting

Shooting has been another sport where Indian athletes have excelled. Indian shooters won a total of 22 medals – 7 gold7 silver, and 8 bronze 1.

 

  1. Manu Bhaker won three gold medals in the women’s air pistol, mixed team air pistol, and women’s sport pistol events.
  2. Saurabh Chaudhary won two gold medals in the men’s air pistol and mixed team air pistol events.
  3. Divyansh Singh Panwar won two gold medals in the men’s air rifle and mixed team air rifle events.

Boxing
